Lenovo unveils new Smart Display and Smart Tabs with Google Assistant

Smart Display 7

Lenovo announced some new Google Assistant smart displays today, expanding its ever-growing portfolio of virtual assistant products. The new devices include the Smart Display 7, the Yoga Smart Tab, and the Smart Tab M8.

The Smart Display 7 is pretty much like the existing eight- and 10-inch Smart Displays, but the screen is seven inches. The functionality is the same, although the design is a bit different. As you can see from the image above, the speaker is below the screen and it"s covered in cloth. Lenovo also says it has better audio quality since the two speakers are housed in a larger chamber, and it has thinner bezels than its predecessors.

The Smart Tab M8 is somewhat similar to the Smart Tab M10 and P10, although those devices shipped with Amazon Alexa. Now, you"ll get Google Assistant. The advantage of this device is that it"s a dockable eight-inch tablet, so it"s a smart display when it"s docked, and then you can pick it up and do all of the things you"d do with an Android tablet.

The tablet itself includes a MediaTek A22 Tab chipset, 2GB RAM, and either 16GB or 32GB of storage. But since it has Google Assistant built into it instead of Alexa, it"s integrated into Google services like Photos, YouTube, Gmail, Calendar, and so on.

Finally, Lenovo announced the Yoga Smart Tab, which is a sort of convertible tablet. It"s a tablet that has a stand built into it, so you don"t need to dock it. It comes with a 10.1-inch FHD display, a Snapdragon 439 chipset, 3GB or 4GB RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of storage.

The Smart Display 7 is coming in October starting at $129.99, the Smart Tab M8 is coming in October starting at $119.99, and the Yoga Smart Tab is coming in September starting at $249.99.
