Lenovo Windows 8 27-inch IdeaCentre Horizon AiO-tablet PC on sale

One of the highlights of CES 2013 in January was the reveal of the IdeaCentre Horizon, the 27-inch all-in-one Windows  PC that can also be used as a battery-powered tablet for use on a table or floor. Today, Lenovo finally started taking orders for the IdeaCentre Horizon on its website.

The PC maker"s online store shows two models are on sale. One has an Intel Core i5 processor with a starting price of $1,699 and a ship date of May 9th. The other model has a faster Intel Core i7 processor with a starting price of $1,849 and a ship date of May 3rd. Both versions come with NVIDIA"s GeForce GT620M graphics chip with 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB of RAM and a 1 TB hard drive.

The IdeaCentre Horizon activates a special UI, called Lenovo Aura, when the PC is in tablet model and placed flat on a table or floor. The battery life in that mode is supposed to be two hours. Lenovo is also shipping what it calls "one eDice, two Strikers and two Joysticks" which are similar to game board tokens that can be used with special games and software included with the PC.
