Lenovo Windows 8 tablet leaks, specs splayed for all to see

The launch of Windows 8 is right around the corner and as that day gets closer, we fully expect to learn more about how OEMs are going to embrace Windows 8. Lenovo, to no surprise, is jumping on the Windows 8 train and what we have today are some internal slides that show off at least one of the company"s upcoming tablets.

The tablet, called the Windows Thinkpad Tablet 2 (tablet 2 is likely a placeholder name) will sport a 10.1in IPS LED display, feature a dual core Atom CPU, 1366x768 resolution, 2MP 720P front facing camera, 8MP rear facing camera, dual microphones, Mini HDMI, Micro SD slot, and a few other features that you can see in the slides above (and below).

Lenovo is not shy about calling out the iPad and how its product will be superior to that device. But, the retail price of the device and the marketing around the product have a major impact on the consumer perception of the device and ultimately how well the device sells.

The tablet, on paper, looks quite good but until we get one of these devices in our hand, it"s hard to give it a true judgment as build quality and materials can make or break a device. Beyond that, Lenovo is about to make a serious play into the tablet market that will give the consumers one more option when it comes to finding a device that fits their needs.
