LG announces 23 inch touch display for Windows 8

If you upgrade your old desktop PC to Windows 8, chances are you will have to navigate the new "touch-first" UI with a keyboard and mouse. Now LG has announced it will release a PC desktop monitor made especially for the touch features in Windows 8.

PC World reports that the LG Touch 10 monitor is 23 inches in size with a resolution of 1920x1080. The 10 point touch screen can also be used with a capacitive stylus, but you will have to pay extra for that peripheral. LG will launch the monitor first in its native Korea in November and it will move to other countries in the weeks ahead. There is no word on pricing yet.

We got a chance to check out the monitor as part of the BUILD 2012 press conference today, and it"s a pretty slick product. We suspect that companies that will be updating their many desktop PCs to Windows 8 will also invest in touch screen monitors such as this one in the months and years ahead. However, they are likely to be priced higher than regular monitors for some time.
