LG"s upcoming V30 handset won"t be fully revealed until August 31, but the company has been slowly releasing various bits of information about the phone. First, it announced that the V30 will be the first smartphone to use a plastic P-OLED FullVision display, and later it said that the camera will have the largest aperture ever on a smartphone at f/1.6.
Now, LG is announcing UX changes that are coming with the device, a subject that many have been curious about since we learned that it would ditch the secondary display. Indeed, that has been replaced with the rumored Floating Bar, which can be "dragged completely off the FullVision display when not needed."
The V30 will have an Always-on Display, and it will have more customization options than before. You"ll be able to add Quick Tools, Music Player, or a photo.
As far as security features go, the V30 will use facial recognition, "even when the phone’s display is off." LG says that you won"t even need to press the power button, as Voice Recognition will use Qualcomm"s Aqstic technology to identify the user"s voice.
Of course, there are camera UI improvements too. In the Camera app"s Manual Mode, there"s a feature called Graphy that allows users to "choose from among a portfolio of professional shots, each with a different style and mood or they can download photos taken by professionals from the Graphy website or mobile app and apply those metadata presets". Different modes include grid shot, snap shot, and match shot.
You"ll also be able to create GIFs in the Gallery menu, and there"s a Create Movie option that lets you create movies with a combination of photos and videos.
Finally, the phone will include Haptic feedback, which will allow the user to match up vibrations of the V30 to its ringtone.
The LG V30 will be announced on August 31 at IFA in Berlin. While there"s not much that we don"t know at this point, we"ll finally see the full picture then.
