It has been rumored for quite some time that LG would ditch its unique secondary ticker display for its upcoming successor to the V20. This was later confirmed when the design for the handset leaked, giving us a look at a device that was nearly identical to its current G6.
Apparently, LG isn"t completely letting go of its V-series roots with the V30 as it could be introducing something new to give users quick access to parts of the phone. This news comes from the folks at Android Authority who have reported that the upcoming handset will arrive with something called "floating bar". While the source did not have many details about what the floating bar could be, it did suggest that it would take the place of the secondary display and provide users with a way to gain access to shortcuts.
Also according to the source, the V30 will arrive with a large 6-inch Full Vision display and will have the same near bezel-less design of the G6 and Q6, along with HDR 10 and Google Daydream support. As far as the camera goes, while it will have a dual lens setup, the real news is how LG could introduce an improved lens coming in with an aperture of f/1.6. The firm could also make improvements to its usual DAC setup by offering something new, like a collaboration with B&O.
Unfortunately, we won"t know for sure what LG has planned for until August when the firm will hold its event and will reveal all of the details about the V30. The firm"s unveiling event will take place at 9PM CET on August 31. IFA Berlin is set to start a day later and will take place from September 1 to September 6.
