LG and Luxoft have announced the launch of their joint venture, Alluto. With Alluto, the two firms will attempt to advance digital, consumer-grade experiences in the car industry. Alluto will commercialise solutions including a digital cockpit, in-vehicle infotainment, passenger-seat entertainment, and ride-hailing system all based on the webOS Auto platform.
Discussing the launch of Alluto, Dr I.P. Park, president and CTO of LG Electronics, said:
“With Alluto, carmakers can now tap into the vibrant webOS ecosystem from the edge to cloud and have a new, powerful alternative to innovate and differentiate future mobility experiences. LG will continue to strengthen the webOS Auto ecosystem through strategic cooperation with diverse global technology companies.”
According to Adam Woolway, the CEO of Alluto, LG will be bringing the webOS software to the partnership and Luxoft is a global leader in bringing new digital technologies to the mobility industry. Alluto also has an array of other partners including Microsoft, Unity, and Qualcomm.
