In a blog post, LG revealed that it has selected William Cho as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1. In addition to this appointment, Kim Byoung-hoon has been selected as Chief Technology Officer, Jang Ik-hwan has been promoted from SVP to EVP, and SVP Eun Seok-hyun has been chosen to lead the Vehicle Component Solutions Company.
The Korean firm said that the new leadership team plans to focus particularly on customer satisfaction by addressing consumers’ pain points and incorporating customer feedback. It will do this by reorganising the Customer Satisfaction Management Center into the Customer Value Innovation Office with oversight from the Chief Strategy Officer.
In addition, LG’s Home Appliances and Home Entertainment Companies will see their Customer Experience Innovation Departments upgraded to the Customer Experience Innovation Division to help boost customer satisfaction.
To prepare LG for the future, several departments such as the Mergers & Acquisitions department and the Life Soft Research department will be promoted so they’ll have access to more resources. Further, the AI Big Data department will be upgraded to a division and will be monitored by the holder of the new Chief Data Office (CDO) position.
All of the appointments will become effective from December 1 with organisational promotions set to come into effect on the first day of the new year.
