As LG held its global launch event in San Francisco, New York, London, Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul for its new flagship, the G3, those in attendance at the Seoul event were treated to a separate press conference that revealed details about the upcoming release of the G Flex 2 and Vu 4.
Both of these handsets are unique, in that they don’t conform to the standard design language shared by most handsets. Following in the footsteps of the original G Flex, the G Flex 2 will remain true to its name and maintain its unique curved body. Assuming that LG continues to utilize the same kind of design language for the Vu 4, it will be a phablet device with a 4:3 screen ratio.
As reviewed earlier this week, the original G Flex suffered from a lack of depth, instead relying on its gimmick of a curved display. Although underutilized in the G Flex, the second iteration in the Flex series could make good use out of its unique curved aspect.
Both the LG G Flex 2 and Vu 4 will be released sometime in later part of 2014. Pricing and availability were not released.
