The first LG G Flex had a lot of issues, like the low resolution screen, or the lack of a microSD slot, and was too big for many people"s hands. The much awaited sequel was recently announced at LG"s CES 2015 press conference, and it looks like the company has figured out the right recipe for a great curved smartphone.
The LG G Flex 2 features a more manageable 5.5 inch display with a 1080p resolution (up from 720p), protected by Gorilla Glass 3 reinforced by LG for 20% added durability. At the heart of the phone is the beastly Snapdragon 810 SoC, with 2GBs of RAM and a choice of 16 or 32 GBs of internal storage that is expandable through a microSD slot.
The curved flagship supports carrier-aggregated LTE Cat 6, will come with Android Lollipop pre-installed, and will have a non-removable 3,000mAh battery with fast charge capability. The back shooter specs are similar to the LG G3"s one, but with added laser auto-focus, which is a big improvement compared to its older brother.
The rear cover is made out of improved plastics, and LG claims will heal from scratches in just 10 seconds, at room temperature, which is much faster than its predecessor. The LG G Flex 2 will first be available in South Korea by the end of January, and judging by the specs, its price will scale accordingly.
