LG is getting ready to release the new generation of the curved LG G Flex. Even though rumor was that it would arrive this year, the folks at Android Authority learned that the date was bumped back until January 2015 during CES in Las Vegas.
G Flex 2"s specs were not listed, but they are said to be a "major upgrade"over its predecessor, according to sources close to the matter. The details are scarce, but it is expected to have a high resolution plastic-based OLED screen. Also the self-healing coating is coming back in a new and improved form.
G Flex was launched in October 2013 and it features a plastic based curved display. It can bend significantly from top to bottom and then return to its original shape without sustaining any damages. Considering the previous generation of LG G Flex, the fact that LG is on top when it comes to flexible displays (they already have curved TV’s that can bend with the press of a button) we can only expect that this new generation will have an extreme curve and the ability to bend even more dramatically.
Luckily we do not have to wait much to see if all these rumors are really true considering that CES Las Vegas starts on January 6, 2015.
