LG has launched a new budget smartphone in the US, called the K31. The latest entrant in the company’s K-series comes with a full-screen design featuring a display notch, and a decent set of features. It costs $150 in the US, and is available via LG’s website. There’s however no word on a global launch yet.
As far as specifications are concerned, the new LG K31 comes with a 5.7-inch FullVision display with HD+ (1520x720 pixels) resolution, and 295ppi density. Under the hood is a 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core chipset along with 2GB of RAM. There’s also 32GB of storage on board that can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.
For photography, the device is equipped with dual cameras at the back. This setup includes a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, and a 5MP wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 120-degrees FOV. For selfies and video calling there’s a 5MP f/2.2 sensor on the front.
Other features include a fingerprint sensor at the back, and a dedicated Google Assistant button on the left side. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that is claimed to offer 11 hours of talktime, and standby time of up to 22 days. Connectivity options include single-SIM card slot, LTE support, Bluetooth 5.0, micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. On the software front, it runs Android 10-based LG UX 9.1.
