LG has revealed that its next high-end Android handset will be unveiled in a few weeks" time. The new device will be a successor to the V10, which it launched last year, featuring an unusual dual-display configuration.
The LG V20 will make its first official appearance on September 6 at a launch event in San Francisco. It will apparently be the very first device to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat onboard, beating even the new Nexus handsets to market with the latest version of Google"s operating system.
It seems likely that the V20 will retain the unconventional secondary display of its predecessor; positioned above the main screen on the V10, it offers quick access to features like media controls or new messages, without always needing to power up the main display.
LG appears confident that the V20 will be a hit, claiming that it will "set new standards in the premium phone" market, offering "expanded multimedia capabilities".
