LG unveils 'V10', a premium smartphone with dual displays and dual front-facing cameras

With the LG G4 a distant memory, LG is attempting to reignite the spark by introducing an all new premium handset, the V10. Although the V10 offers much of the same compared to the G4, there are some very notable differences.

First and foremost, the build quality has been improved. The V10 is not made from plastic, but instead utilizes a stainless steel frame that LG is calling Dura Guard frame. The new frame is able to secure the display, minimizing damage that can occur during drops. The rest of the phone is wrapped in a durable silicone skin that is textured for better grip.

The V10"s most unique features have to be the dual display and dual front-facing camera. The handset offers a 5.7" QHD IPS display, but also has a smaller 2.1" IPS display that sits above the main screen. The second screen can be used in a variety of different ways from offering a discrete area for alerts or as a quick launcher for easy access to favorite apps. The 5MP dual front-facing camera is optimized to capture standard selfies or can even capture wide angle selfies (LG is dubbing them "groufies") offering a wide angle of 120 degrees.

The LG V10 is powered by much of the same innards as the G4, but offers more memory at 4GB and storage at 64GB. The full specifications of the device have been listed below.

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Processor
  • 5.7-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display (2560 x 1440 / 513ppi) and 2.1-inch IPS Quantum Display (160 x 1040 / 513ppi)
