LG"s G6 might be the worst kept secret out of Mobile World Congress news at this point. That is, of course, if all those leaks are even true; there have been a number of them, and now, a report from VentureBeat claims to know details of the handset"s availability.
According to the report, the G6 will be available in South Korea on March 9, with US carriers launching it on April 7.
LG"s G6 will be the company"s Spring flagship, as the firm launches two per year. Last year"s autumn flagship, the V20, was very impressive; however, the G5 failed to win over the hearts of customers. This puts LG in something of an awkward position, as it already won"t be able to compete with the specs of Samsung"s upcoming Galaxy S8.
Indeed, the G6 is expected to use Qualcomm"s Snapdragon 821 chipset, rather than the upcoming Snapdragon 835. Other features that we"ll likely see from the handset are an all-metal body and a 5.7-inch 18:9 ratio QHD+ LCD.
We"re not too far off from the phone"s launch now, as the company has sent out invitations for a February 26 event at Mobile World Congress.
