Although LG just recently released the G6 to retailers, there are already talks about its V series sibling, that is slated to be released later this year.
According to the folks at The Investor, LG Display is preparing to supply Xiaomi and LG with OLED displays, which are expected to start shipping in the next few months. What makes the news interesting is that the displays will be curved, similar to what Samsung has shown off with its recently announced Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The source also states that the displays will most likely make their way onto a larger handset, which for LG means it could arrive on its upcoming successor to the V20.
While the G series has been LG"s flagship device to show off its technical prowess, the V series was introduced initially as more of an experimental idea offering bold styling, new technologies, and possessing attributes making it more rugged. Naturally, we will have to wait and see what LG releases towards the end of the year, but if the G6 is any indication, the "V30" could become a serious contender later this year.
