Linux Unlikely to Unseat Windows Soon

The fast growing Linux operating system will not dethrone Microsoft Corp"s Windows soon because a switch to the freely available Linux is prohibitively expensive for big companies, according to a Yankee Group survey released on Monday. About 90 percent of the 300 large companies with 10,000 or more users surveyed said a significant or total switch from Windows to Linux would be prohibitively expensive, extremely complex and time consuming.
