CES 2013 has long been an excuse for celebrities to show up at the massive trade show in Las Vegas to promote or endorse upcoming products related to consumer electronics. This week, Microsoft is using CES to assist in the announcement of an upcoming music collaboration app that"s being made especially for Windows 8.
The app, as revealed on the Microsoft Experience blog, is called Liquid MyConnect Studio, and it"s being made by Boomdizzle, a company co-founded by musician and NCIS: Los Angeles actor LL Cool J. The idea for the app came about when LL Cool J encountered difficulties with creating music tracks while on the road or working on his TV show; the app is being designed to let people remotely record and edit music in real time.
And why make this app an exclusive for Windows 8? LL Cool J indicated in the video interview above that he wanted Liquid MyConnect Studio to work across multiple devices without having to be redeveloped for each device. That would seem to suggest that there is a Windows Phone 8 version coming out as well; there"s no word on when the app will launch or how much it will cost.
