Logitech announces the K750 solar powered keyboard

In a move that makes you wonder why a company hasn"t tried this before, Logitech has announced the K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard. Yes, solar powered keyboards are here, which means we can finally do away with replacing batteries in keyboards or recharging batteries to keep our peripherals fully powered. But, how well it will charge in a low lit environment or underneath a basic desk lamp no one knows and how it stands up to the daily grind of being used all day still remains to be tested.

This keyboard charges itself whenever there is light and stays charged for at least three months in total darkness according to Logitech. It"ll be interesting to see how well the device keeps to these benchmarks once we get our hands on one in the future. The K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard charges up thanks to two large solar panels at the top right and left of the keyboard.

As with a lot of Logitech keyboards, the device is very thin and streamlined at only 1/3 -inch thickness and runs on 2.4GHz Wireless. The keyboard also comes with a Logitech based application called "Logitech Solar App" which informs the user just how much battery power you have as well as letting you know how much power you are drawing in through light sources around you.

The K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard is due out later this month and is currently available for pre-order at $79.99 directly from Logitech.
