Logitech's G305 LightSpeed is the company's new affordable gaming mouse

Logitech is adding a new wireless mouse to its Logitech G gaming-focused sub-brand, the G305 LightSpeed. This is the company"s most affordable wireless gaming mouse yet, coming in at just $59, but it offers some solid specs for that price point. It includes the LightSpeed wireless technology seen in higher-end mice from the company, such as the G903, but also features Logitech"s High Efficiency Rated Optical (HERO) sensor which is claimed to be highly power efficient.

The G305 uses Logitech G’s exclusive LIGHTSPEED wireless technology for a gaming experience that’s faster than most wired mice, as well as Logitech G’s revolutionary HERO sensor, capable of achieving next generation performance at 10 times the power efficiency of the previous generation of mice. With the Logitech G305, there is no reason to game with a leash.

The Logitech G305 uses HERO the most advanced gaming sensor ever designed. HERO is incredibly power efficient, and provides exceptional responsiveness and accuracy, 400 IPS precision and sensitivity up to 12,000 DPI, with no acceleration or smoothing. Plus, with the ultra-fast LIGHTSPEED wireless technology included in the Logitech G305, you get a faster-than-wired gaming experience with a 1ms report rate, end-to-end optimized wireless connection, and incredible responsiveness and reliability for competition-level performance.

The mouse offers a report rate of just one millisecond in performance mode, and it can get up to 250 hours of battery life from a single AA battery in that mode. Turning the mouse into endurance mode, which lowers the report rate to 8ms, should get users up to 9 months of battery life according to Logitech. The mouse will also warn the user when the battery level is 15%, which should be enough time to get a replacement battery ready.

The mouse has 6 buttons which can be configured using the Logitech Gaming Software. Despite its long battery life and features, the mouse comes in at just 99 grams, which should help prevent strains after using it for extended periods of time. The mouse can also house the USB wireless receiver under its own shell.

Logitech has been making big bets on the gaming market, with the acquisition of gaming headset company Astro last year. The company also released a charging pad for wireless mice last summer, though the new G305 doesn"t seem to support it.
