Lots of love for iOS 4.3 on Valentine's day?

If rumors circulating the Internet over the last 24 hours are to be believed, it seems that Apple may well be releasing the long-awaited iOS 4.3 update for the iPhone/iPad and iPod touch on Valentine"s day.

According to an article posted on CNET, a “reliable source” has stated that iOS 4.3 will be released around 10 AM. PT on February 14. This holds up well with previous rumors suggesting a likely February release of the software.

Website Macstories has also posted a quote from the Verizon iPhone review posted by Daring Fireball’s John Gruber’s, in which he makes mention that the iOS 4.3 update is due for release within the next couple of weeks.

There have also been a number of other rumors circulating forums that have made the suggestion that an iPad 2 announcement would be happening around the same time as the new iOS software gets released, although this is still unconfirmed.

iOS 4.3 is set to add a new “Personal Hotspot” feature, as well as new access for app and web app developers to use their "AirPlay" for video. The "Personal Hotspot" feature allows iPhone users to turn their device into a WiFi hotspot, allowing up to 5 devices to connect and use the data provided on a phone"s data plan. This new feature is carrier-dependant and not all networks will be supporting it.
