LulzSec UK hacking suspect released on bail

After having to spend a couple of extra days in jail, the 19-year old UK resident accused of being associated with the LulzSec hacking group is now out but with some restrictions. The Daily Mirror reports that Ryan Cleary was granted bail today but has to have an electronic tag placed on his person. Cleary also has a curfew of between 9 am and 7 pm and cannot leave his residence without being accompanied by one of his parents. Cleary must also allow the police access to his home to ensure that he is obeying the conditions of his bail.

Cleary was first arrested a week ago today as part of a joint probe between the FBI and Scotland Yard. The law enforcement agencies have been investigating the LulzSec hacker group that ironically stated this weekend that it was abandoning its 50 day campaign of hacking civilian and government web sites. Cleary is accused of creating a denial of service attack on the Serious Organized Crime Agency (SOCA). He is also accused of a number of other cyber attacks on various other targets. LulzSec has denied that Cleary was a part of its hacker group although it did admit that he has hosted one of LulzSec"s chat rooms on his IRC server.

It was revealed in court on Saturday that Cleary suffers from Asperger"s syndrome, a form of autism, along with agoraphobia. His lawyer tried to get Cleary freed on bail at that time but the case"s prosecutors objected to him leaving custody.
