After what seems like an eternity the Lumia Denim update is finally rolling-out around the world, including Europe, China and India.
Yesterday the update showed up in China for a few select devices but since then Denim has become available to more and more people around the world. Many Europeans are now receiving this latest update with low-end and older devices seemingly being prioritized.
The Lumia 520, Lumia 625, Lumia 530 and the phablet-sized Lumia 1320 are the main handsets receiving the Denim firmware, though other handsets are also on that list. The focus seems to be on the low-end, an obvious decision considering that’s Windows Phone’s bread and butter, but devices such as the Lumia 1020 or the 925 are also starting to receive update notifications.
Denim brings around numerous improvements and fixes, brings Cortana to additional markets and allows users to download the new Lumia Camera app. You can check out the full list of changes here.
Here’s hoping that after such a long wait the Denim update rolls-out to all devices quickly. Of course that will not only depend on Microsoft but on your carrier as well. You can check out the lists of devices and carriers receiving the update here for Europe and here for India.
