Ahead of the previously announced time, 2K Games and Hanger 13 have pushed out the promised gameplay reveal trailer of its upcoming remake of the 2002 hit action game Mafia. Catch the 14-minute running reveal above, which mostly focuses on a playthrough of the "A Trip to the Country" mission.
The first few minutes of the trailer go into what parts of the original are returning in the remake, and the answer is essentially everything. The city of Lost Haven, the iconic characters, cinematics, missions - even the dreaded racing one -, and more have been remade from the ground up. In some cases, the original material has been improved upon in the new experience as well, such as having new scenes and dialog for characters.
A wide range of period-authentic vehicles and weapons have been added too, including motorcycles for the first time. Regarding the remake"s enhancements, Hanger 13 said:
"Our goal was to improve the game in as many areas as possible given advances in technology, game design, and story telling since the original release, while still remaining true to the Mafia story, characters, and spirit."
Owing to the recent delay, Mafia: Definitive Edition is now coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on September 25. The title will cost $39.99. Pre-order options for all platforms can be seen here.
