2K dropped a teaser trailer last week regarding upcoming news about a Mafia Trilogy bundle, and right on time, the publisher has delivered. Mafia Trilogy is a bundle that will deliver a complete remake of the original Mafia from 2002, a remaster of the 2010 Mafia II, and a re-release of Mafia III that arrived in 2016, though it will be a complete package.
Probably the most exciting piece of information from the announcement is the Mafia remake, dubbed the Mafia: Definitive Edition. The game has been remade from the ground up in a new engine, and will come sporting an updated script, new gameplay, cutscenes, and more to re-tell the story of cab driver Tommy Angelo"s rise in the city of Lost Haven. The release is slated for August 28.
The Mafia II: Definitive Edition remaster has 4K upgraded visuals and arrives with all of the story and cosmetic DLC packs it received. Moreover, anyone who already owns Mafia II on Steam will get this edition as a free upgrade.
Finally, Mafia III: Definitive Edition has its season pass folded into it, and just like Mafia II, it will arrive as a free upgrade to all existing Mafia III owners on Steam. But this time, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners are included in this free upgrade too.
The Mafia Trilogy will be available for purchase digitally starting today for $59.99, however, as mentioned previously, it will only contain Mafia II and Mafia III Definitive Editions, for now. The Mafia remake will show up to owners starting on August 28. Purchasing the games separately is also an option.
