A lot of PC makers use cases that are made by third parties. That"s not the case with Maingear. The Kenilworth, New Jersey-based company has impressed reviewers over the past couple of years with its custom Shift desktop PC, which has a smooth, brushed black aluminum case. More importantly, the case has been designed so that the PC"s motherboard is rotated inside by 90 degrees so that all of its ports, with the exception of the power supply, are on top of the case rather than on the back.
Now, Maingear is teasing its customers on its website with word that it will soon launch two more desktop PC designs. Both designs are going to be much smaller than the massive 24 inch tall and 60 pound Shift. One is supposed to be 56 percent smaller than the Shift while the other is going to be 76 percent smaller.
The new designs will still have the VRTX cooling design that the Shift has, which allows cool air to be drawn down at the bottom while the hot air rises to the top. The designs will also have Intel"s newly launched third generation Intel Core processors (formerly known as Ivy Bridge). We hope to get more info on these two new Maingear PC designs very soon.
