Marissa Mayer engaging Twitter users who promise to switch to Yahoo

Yahoo has seen its once dominant online empire slowly decline, though the 2012 appointment of Marissa Mayer to the company"s CEO position rekindled some lost interest. Now Mayer is attempting to switch users back to Yahoo in a unique way – by retweeting their promises to do so.

On her Twitter account, Mayer has been engaging users who promise to switch to Yahoo services, such as the company"s homepage. Perhaps most interestingly, however, Mayer has been engaging with users who said they make fun of the company"s new logo, responding to some and retweeing others. The new logo drew mixed responses online, with many websites slamming the design

@jbovenizer thanks :) - I hope it will grow on you!

Mayer"s responses have gotten people talking on Twitter, as the amount of users mentioning her in tweets have rapidly increased, though her name isn"t trending on the social network.

Yahoo has seen its market value increase significantly since Mayer"s hiring, who led the company"s acquisition of social blogging site tumblr. Mayer has focused on creating a more cohesive online network while also focusing on mobile products, buying several startup developers in the past year.
