It would be funny if the Mark Zuckerberg lost access to his own profile from his own company. After all, it"s rare to see a company"s own founder locked out of his own site. His account was compromised earlier this year and only used to post an idea about allowing individuals to invest in the company rather than banks. This time, however, a person by the name of Mark Zuckerberg had his account disabled by Facebook.
That"s right, a Mark Zuckerberg. Not the billionaire from Harvard, unfortunately. This Mark Zuckerberg is an attorney from Indianapolis who specializes in dealing with consumer bankruptcy and home foreclosures. This is not the first problem Zuckerberg had with Facebook, as he points out in an interview with WishTV. Zuckerberg explained of the difficulties he faced in convincing Facebook he wasn"t out to maliciously steal the identity of their founder:
I was originally denied an account with Facebook two years ago because of my name, and I had to send them copies of my driver’s license, birth certificate, and Indianapolis Bar Association license just to get them to believe that I exist and to allow me to set up my page.
We went through this for about 4 months. I finally wrote them a threatening letter, and the next thing I knew, I was on.
He was fine up until this past Monday, when his account was suddenly disabled. Zuckerberg did laugh at his own situation, despite losing access to his 350 or so friends. He noted it was nice to have a break from explaining to a few people who emailed him that he is not the Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook fame.
There was one observation he noted that seems to be common when it comes to contacting Facebook. His 4 month exchange just to get his account approved is an example. Both WishTV and Zuckerberg the attorney said it was nearly impossible to talk directly to a Facebook representative. We can only sympathize with him, as we"ve been there before.
On the upside, Mark Zuckerberg the attorney will have access to his account restored soon.
