May security patches for Android begin rolling out to Samsung's Galaxy S7

A couple of weeks ago, Google released its latest monthly Android security update, making it available for supported Nexus and Pixel devices. Today, that update has begun rolling out to Samsung"s Galaxy S7.

The May 2017 security patches have so far been spotted on the Galaxy S7 in the Netherlands, but the rollout should quickly expand to more markets, and to the Galaxy S7 edge. The update for the S7 bumps up its firmware version to G930FXXU1DQE7, and is around 373MB in size.

As with previous security updates, the May patches bring fixes for a wide range of vulnerabilities and other issues in the Android OS, as well as flaws specific to Samsung"s Galaxy line. The update also includes unspecified stability and performance improvements.
