Medal of Honor Warfighter will be released on October 23rd, but the modern military first person shooter from Electronic Arts might get a lot more attention in December for an upcoming DLC map pack. Today, EA announced that it will release the Zero Dark Thirty pack in collaboration with the upcoming movie of the same name.
The press release states that the DLC pack will have two multiplayer maps, both set in Pakistan, that are based on real world locations. The map pack was made in collaboration with the filmmakers behind Zero Dark Thirty, which will tell the story of how the US finally killed Osama bin Laden.
The map pack itself will cost $9.99 when it is released and people who pre-order the main game will receive the map pack for free. EA says a portion of the map pack sales will be given as part of the company"s donation to the Project HONOR campaign, which EA says is a, " ... program created to drive charitable contributions to nonprofit veterans organizations." In addition, a trailer for Zero Dark Thirty will be included as part of Medal of Honor Warfighter.
It will be interesting to see the reaction from certain quarters about promoting a movie about the real takedown of the world"s most famous terrorist via a DLC game pack.
