Meta has announced that it is launching a new resource, Privacy Center, across its apps and technologies, where users will be able to learn more about its approach to privacy, read up on its Data Policy, and learn how to make use of the privacy and security controls available.
The latest resource will act as a hub for the privacy and security controls that the tech giant has introduced previously. Currently, Privacy Center has five different modules that contain guides and controls regarding a common privacy topic. The five modules include Security, Sharing, Collection, Use, and Ads. With the first module, users will get account security options, and a two-factor authentication tool, and also learn how the tech giant "fights data scraping".
Sharing will provide information about the posts you share and with whom you share them along with providing you with the Manage Activity tool. Collection will bring Access Your Information tool, and educate users on the types of data Meta collects. Use will offer information on how and why Meta uses data, and allow users to manage how their information is used. With Ads, users will be able to use Ad Preferences tool to control the ads they see.
Privacy Center will be available in Settings and Privacy on the desktop version of Facebook for those who have access to the initial launch. Meta will also continue to add more modules and controls to the latest resource and will include additional ways to access it in "places where you may have privacy concerns" as it updates and expands Privacy Center.
