There won"t be a new Metro game coming out this year, as THQ Nordic"s newly published financial report mentions that the third entry in the series, Metro Exodus, is now expected to launch in the first quarter of 2019. The report does not mention a reason for the delay, but the game could now arrive as late as March next year.
Originally announced at E3 2017, Metro Exodus will have players leaving behind the Moscow Metro to travel to other parts of the continent, featuring much more open environments than previous entries in the series. A second trailer for the post-apocalyptic shooter was released late last year during the Game Awards, which is also when the now obsolete Fall 2018 release window was revealed.
Although we will be waiting sometime longer to get our hands on the game, there is a good chance of one of the publisher briefings showing off more gameplay during next month"s E3 event. Developed by series regular 4A games, Metro Exodus is headed for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
