Metro Exodus returns to Steam on February 15

The 4A Games-developed first-person shooter Metro Exodus was one of the first games to leave behind Steam and become a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store. Just as the publisher Deep Silver promised back then, the game is returning to being purchasable on the Valve platform a year after the original launch, with the Steam version re-releasing next week on February 15.

"Those of you that have been waiting, thank you for your passion and patience," said the developer in its announcement tweet. It doesn"t look like another pre-order session will take place though, and it"s unclear what will the price be set at. The game will release on Steam at 00:00 ET (5:00 GMT / UTC, 6:00 CE, 6:00 AEDT.)

Anyone who pre-ordered the PC version via Steam before it was pulled still received the full game at launch last year, and it has continued to receive updates on the platform. Owners have even been able to purchase the season pass and individual DLC.

Metro Exodus" final expansion that will complete the experience is slated to launch on February 11, only a few days before the Steam release. Named Sam"s Story, the expansion offers players a sandbox-survival experience that takes place after the main game"s ending. Players will take the role of Sam as he searches for a way to return to the United States.
