Microsoft adds a bit of color to the Surface pen, now comes in blue, red, and black

If you are looking at your Surface pen and wish that it wasn"t such a boring shade of silver, Microsoft has you covered. The company has announced today that they will be releasing Surface pens in red, blue, black and of course you can still buy the pen in silver if you wish.

While adding color options is purely a superficial "update" to the peripheral, for those of you who want your pens to match your Type cover, you now have that option.

These pens will set you back $49.99 when they go on sale early next month but aside from being a different color than what shipped with the Pro 3, there are no other updates.

There has been a healthy does of Surface 3 news this morning and if you missed any of it, you can check out the new device here, updates to the Type cover here and read more about the new charging connector Microsoft is using instead of the magnetic port here.
