Microsoft adds code samples to its Docs platform

Microsoft has announced that Docs - the documentation platform launched in preview back in 2016 - is getting a new capability. Starting today, the company is adding a section dedicated to hosting all of its code samples in a single place, allowing users to search and find the samples they"re looking for.

The launch comes with a number of useful features and integrations, such as a link to GitHub, so users can report any issues or make contributions to the samples provided. Each sample also has a direct link to its respective location in a GitHub repository. What"s more, you can download individual samples even if they"re in a repository that has many. Each sample will have a "Download ZIP" button so you can get just what you need.

Microsoft is also aware that some samples include links to Azure Resource Manager, and so samples can be deployed to Azure in one click.

Rounding out the niceties, the database of code samples should also be easy to navigate, with filters on the side that allow users to look for samples related to specific products or coding languages. These filters can be used in conjunction with the search bar to find code samples more easily. You can check out the experience here.
