Microsoft announced a couple of months ago that it planned to put in support for Excel surveys in its SkyDrive cloud service. Today, the company announced that this particular feature has finally been added for SkyDrive users.
In a post on the Inside SkyDrive blog, Microsoft said that the survey option has been a popular request from students. However, it added that it can also be used by families or groups of friends in order to plan any kind of event. The blog states, "Now, whether you need to plan a carpool, organize a potluck dinner, or get your kickball team together, you can do it right from SkyDrive with an Excel survey."
SkyDrive actually uses the Excel Web App for its surveys. All a person has to do is choose the Create option in SkyDrive, then choose "Excel survey" among the menu choices. The blog goes over the process of how a person can create the Excel survey and then publish it to the outside world.
Microsoft adds, "As the creator of the survey, you can view all of the results in Excel and do neat things like embed the results in a webpage, or create and share a chart or pivot table of the results."
