Microsoft has been adding more features to its Snapshot information column on Bing.com search over the past several months, including adding specific information about famous people, and today the company has announced further expansions to that search feature.
A post on the official Bing blog today says that when a user types in a well known person"s name in the Bing search bar, information about that person might appear below that bar. The Snapshot feature might also appear if a person has a LinkedIn profile that he or she has chosen to be displayed on Bing"s search results.
The blog adds:
In the milliseconds between keystrokes, Bing lets you narrow down your search by clicking on the correct person. If Bing has information on a person, we let you know by displaying it below the search box. In some instances, multiple people share the same name. When this happens, we’ll provide information for the most relevant people with that name, and help you narrow down your search.
The new feature was co-developed by the Bing team at Microsoft"s Redmond, Washington headquarters and the Search Technological Center (STC-E) that"s based in London.
