That is according to gaming analysts DFC, the firm predicts that unless Sony changes its PS3 strategy, the gadget will be third in sales, beaten by rival consoles the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. Sony have been sitting high at the top spot since the release of the Playstation in 1994.
It also predicted that the high price of the PS3 will prove to be a brake on the broader industry. However, a poll for Amazon Japan found that more Japanese people want Sony"s PS3 than Nintendo"s Wii. Japan is still a huge market for the industry and many of Europe"s biggest games are developed for the Japanese and then ported over to different languages.
Will Japan control the next gen market? Or is the huge size and amount of good games being developed by American and European companies a factor that will play in the next gen race?
