The team behind Microsoft Office has released a number of new features and improvements as it merges services with Yammer, Microsoft"s enterprise social networking platform. The announcement came just days after the Redmond giant reported closer integration with Yammer at the annual Ignite conference.
The latest improvements make it even easier to collaborate between team members, offering a quick and productive way to create and edit Office documents directly within Yammer. Users who create a document using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel will be able to view version history and mark important files which allows all members of a group to access the same file. In addition, Microsoft has introduced a way to leverage SharePoint and OneDrive to discuss and share files between co-workers. This should provide a more convenient way to to collaborate on files without ever having to leave Yammer.
