Microsoft announces a number of discounts on PCs and more for graduation season

It"s graduation season, and if you"re looking to purchase a gift for that special person that"s moving on to the next phase of their life, Microsoft is offering some deals on a variety of devices. The company announced today that it is offering hefty discounts on new laptops, tablets, and more in the US.

One of those deals is up to $150 off of the Surface Pro 4, which we reported on this morning. The base model (Core m3, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD) is only $50 off, but you can save $150 on three of the Core i5 and i7 variants. That deal will be offered until May 13.

According to the announcement, you can save up to $200 on a Dell Inspiron 13, but the actual listing shows that you can save up to $250. Here are the three models:

  • Core i3, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD | usually $499 | now $399 | save $100
  • Core i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB SSD | usually $749 | now $499 | save $250
  • Core i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD | usually $899 | now $699 | save $200

You can check out the Inspiron 13 on the Microsoft Store here; interestingly, the listing doesn"t show any expiration date on these prices.

However, that"s not the case for the Inspiron 15, which is set to expire on June 18. There"s only one model, which has an AMD A12-9700P processor, 12GB RAM, 1TB HDD, and AMD Radeon R7 graphics/ Normally it"s $749, but right now it"s $170 off at $579. You can check it out here.

The firm is also offering $200 off an HTC Vive if you purchase one of select VR-ready PCs. This deal gets even better when you check out the deals that Microsoft is offering on those PCs. For example, you can grab an Alienware Aurora R5 desktop for $1,397, which is $602 off of its normal price of $1,999. Check out the full page of VR-ready PCs for more deals.

But wait, there"s more. You"ll get 20% off of a pair of Hyper X headphones if you buy an Xbox One console or a new PC, including those discounted VR-ready devices. This will be offered until September 3.

Microsoft says that deals begin between today and June 18, so there might be even more on the way. In fact, if you don"t see anything that you like here, check out the Microsoft Store as there are plenty more sales being offered there.
