Earlier today, Microsoft announced that it will open registration for its Build 2016 developer conference next week. Build is one of a range of major events that the company hosts throughout the year, which also includes its Worldwide Partner Conference and Ignite enterprise conference - and now, Microsoft has added a new event to its calendar.
Today, it announced Microsoft Envision, which it describes as its "new flagship event for business leaders and decision makers". The inaugural event will be held in New Orleans from April 4-6, 2016 - although while described as an entirely new event, the company also acknowledges that it "replaces Microsoft Convergence as the premier event for business leaders".
The company says that Envision is "designed for CxOs [e.g. Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operations Officer, etc] and their senior department and functional leaders who are driven to shape their own future and position their organizations and business for success in a mobile first, cloud first world".
On its Envision site, Microsoft adds that the event is intended to give business leaders...
...the powerful ideas and real-world solutions that can move your business forward. You’ll hear about the latest trends, disruptive technologies, and gain new perspectives for making smart decisions about the future of your business.
The event will include:
- Keynotes and interactive sessions with a broad slate of visionaries, experts and innovators
- Functional and industry-specific content to provide relevant insights and solutions
- Opportunities to build valuable connections that last beyond the event
Registration for Envision is open now, and registrants will need a Microsoft account to sign up for the event. Prices range from $695 to $2445, depending on the type of conference pass selected.
