Microsoft today announced new accessories for the Xbox One, which include new controllers and a headset. The new controllers aren"t as high-end as the Elite Controller that the company announced last year, but they do have some new features that the standard controller for your old Xbox One does not have.
There are two new designs of the Xbox Wireless Controller that launched alongside the Xbox One S. The one you see on the right is described as Dawn Shadow Special Edition, and it"s a "metallic magenta that fades into a matte black finish." The one of the left is simply called blue, and Microsoft says that it"s a favorite from the Xbox Design Lab.
Speaking of the Xbox Design Lab, you don"t have to buy one of these designs. You can still create your own, as long as you"re in the US. Of course, a custom controller starts at $79.99, so these will be a bit cheaper.
The Dawn Shadow controller will be available in the US, Canada, UK, and other Xbox regions beginning on October 4 for $69.99. The blue controller will come to select regions on September 27 for $64.99. The Xbox Design Lab won"t be available in Europe until next year, so if you want a different design right now, these would be your best bet.
The new Wireless Controller will also be coming in black. Since it contains new features, the bundles that include the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows and the USB Charging Cable will also include the new controller.
Finally, Microsoft will be offering the new Xbox Stereo Headset – Special Edition this fall. Microsoft says that the white color will be perfect for matching with the Xbox One S (although not with your new Dawn Shadow controller) and it will be available in late October for $64.99.
