Today, Microsoft announced that it is working with 343 Industries to bring Halo to Windows Mixed Reality. Indeed, you"ll finally be able to shoot down The Covenant in an immersive environment.
Specifics were not offered, such as if any existing Halo games will be ported to the platform, but the company did announce the first wave of content partners:
But one partner that"s not listed here is Steam, which will be making its VR content available on Windows Mixed Reality as well. It"s a far cry from Epic Games co-founder Tim Sweeney"s previous comments, which have often been that Windows is aiming to crush Steam with its Store approach.
In the blog post, Microsoft made it clear that Windows Mixed Reality PCs will include integrated graphics, and the experience will run at 60 frames per second. Then, there will be Windows Mixed Reality Ultra PCs with discrete graphics that will run at 90fps.
You can expect more Windows Mixed Reality headsets this holiday season, with announcements expected to come from Lenovo and more at IFA, which kicks off on Friday.
