Microsoft has been testing out version 1910 of the software for its Xbox One consoles with Insiders since March; however, there really haven"t been any new features. After all, Xbox gets feature updates almost monthly, so any new features that showed up would end up going to production well ahead of the 1910 release. And as we know, the 19H2 update for Windows 10 is slated to be a minor update.
Today, the company announced the actual features that are coming in the October update, and as expected, it"s pretty minor. First up is Wish List notifications. If you"ve got something on your Wish List, you"ll get a notification when that item is discounted.
As always, there are Mixer improvements. You"ll be getting a viewing experience built into the dashboard. It"s meant to be a faster and easier way to get to the streams you want to see.
Microsoft says that it"s "made significant improvements" to Recent Players, making it more reliable and easier to connect with other players. It"s easier to send a message, add them to your Friends list, and invite them to a party.
The game capture experience is being improved with new settings including Captures by me, Captures by me or games, and Don"t capture. And finally, there"s an option to recommend Game Pass games to your friends.
Microsoft said that it made some under-the-hood improvements, and you"ll see fewer "update" required" screens when launching games. The Xbox One October update will be available for everyone in, well, October. Insiders in the Beta, Delta, and Omega rings will get it in the coming weeks.
