Microsoft Band 2 updated to include Auto-Pause for tracking sessions

Microsoft is pushing out an update today with a couple of new features for Microsoft Band 2.

The first of the two features is Auto-Pause, which allows Band 2 to detect when the user has stopped during a tracking session. The feature must be enabled before use.

Microsoft Band is now equipped with Auto Pause. When you enable Auto Pause, your band will automatically pause your tracking session when it senses you’ve stopped. When you start again, your session will automatically resume. Stop at that intersection, take a water break, or chat with your neighbor without a second thought.

Auto Pause works with the Run Tile and the Bike Tile on Microsoft Band 2.

The second new feature is character-based language display.

With this update, Microsoft Band 2 also allows you to view select character-based languages on your band, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Find these languages on your band in the Settings Tile.

Microsoft really seems to be working hard on new features for its health- and fitness-focused wearable devices, particularly the Band 2. The last update to include new features was less than a month ago. The following day, Microsoft Health was updated with a Live Tile to show battery status, steps counted, and calories burned.

Are you a Microsoft Band 2 user? What do you think of the new features? Let us know in the comments!
