Microsoft released its Band today for $199 and based on early reports, it looks like the device is a hit with consumers. Even though the product did not have a press event to build hype for the release, it looks like the stealth release has drummed up quite a bit of interest.

As you can see from the image at the top of this post, the Band is drawing a lot of foot traffic to Microsoft Stores and lines did form for the device by eager customers. Considering that Microsoft Stores are typically a bit more barren than other retail locations, this is a huge win for Microsoft.

The online store got hit hard as well as the device is now sold out in all sizes on the Microsoft site. You can sign up to be notified when the product is available again or take your chance and try to find one at your local Microsoft store.

At this time, we do not know the stock levels for the device at retail stores, so it is likely best to call ahead before making the trip to the Microsoft Store. Seeing that the online store is sold out and that there were lines at physical stores, the device may be hard to find for some time.

If you missed the announcement late last night, you can catch up on all of the news about the device here. If you did buy a Band today, let us know your initial thoughts of the device in the comments below.
