Microsoft just might be working on a new subscription product for its gaming offerings, as spotted by Microsoft leakster WalkingCat. The new plan is called Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and it combines the two main subscription services that already exist: Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold.
Xbox Game Pass provides access to well over 100 games at any given time, and normally it costs $9.99 per month. Subscribers need only choose from the library of games and download it to their PC or Xbox One console. Xbox Live Gold provides online functionalities in games, and it also provides four free games per month with Games with Gold. That normally costs $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, however, will cost $14.99 per month. According to WalkingCat, it will also be available to Xbox Insiders for $1 per month while it"s in testing.
Back in December, there were also reports of Microsoft working on a consumer Microsoft 365 subscription plan. Some have speculated that this will also include various Xbox services like Game Pass and Live Gold; however, it"s unclear how well that would work, since not everyone has an Xbox One console.
WalkingCat did not say when this service will be available, but since it"s just a combination of existing services, it should be pretty soon.
