Microsoft cuts £20 off Surface 3 in the UK; now available from £399

Since Microsoft unveiled its new Surface Pro 4 tablet last month, many bargain hunters have been on the lookout for chunky discounts on its predecessor, the Pro 3. But of course, Microsoft has another, smaller Windows tablet in its range, and over in the UK, it"s just picked up a modest discount.

The 10.8-inch Surface 3 is the most affordable tablet that Microsoft offers, featuring a quad-core Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor, and optional 4G LTE connectivity.

In the UK, the entry-level Surface 3 with 64GB storage and 2GB RAM is usually priced at £419, while the next model up, which gets double the storage and RAM, costs £499. But you can currently get both models with £20 off their regular price from the Microsoft Store, bringing them down to £399 and £479 respectively.

However, that discount - which Microsoft says is a limited-time offer - doesn"t extend to the 4G LTE models. But to sweeten the deal a little further, all Surface 3 models in the UK (including those with 4G) also come with a free one-year Office 365 Personal subscription, along with a three-month NOW TV Entertainment Pass.
