Microsoft dates three exclusive Xbox downloadable games

Ori and the Blind Forest

Microsoft has revealed release dates for three upcoming exclusive downloadable games for its Xbox consoles, with each title slated for release within three months.

The first downloadable exclusive scheduled for 2015 is "ScreamRide," which will hit Xbox One and Xbox 360 on March 3. "ScreamRide" allows gamers to create their own rollercoasters in the near future, though it has a twist on similar games: The goal of the game"s main mode is to scare riders nearly to death, while an alternative mode lets gamers destroy buildings with their rollercoasters. Frontier Developments, the team behind "Kinect Disneyland Adventures" and the Rollercoaster Tycoon series, is the developer of "ScreamRide."

A week after "ScreamRide," Microsoft will publish "Ori and the Blind Forest," a platformer from developer Moon Studios. Coming to Xbox One and PC on March 11, the game features puzzle elements such as manipulating gravity and managing when to use certain abilities that are granted by holding an orb.

Following these original games, Microsoft plans to bring a remake of "State of Decay," a popular open-world zombie action game for the Xbox 360, to Xbox One on April 28. The re-release, officially called the "Year-One Survival Edition," will come with all the original game"s content as well as both of its expansions. As Microsoft revealed in August, the remake will also improve the game"s visuals, with new animations and a 1080p resolution.

Microsoft executives have hinted that the company will have several more exclusive games to announce in the coming months. The biggest news about gaming coming soon from the company won"t have anything to do with its consoles, however, as it plans to reveal new information on gaming for computers at tomorrow"s Windows 10 event.
