Microsoft delays Crackdown 3 until spring, just in time for E3 2018

After making a huge splash at E3 2017, Microsoft has now announced that it will be delaying the release of Crackdown 3 which was originally scheduled to arrive on November 7 for the Xbox One and PC.

Microsoft confirmed to Polygon today, stating that it is delaying the title, giving the development teams involved more time to ensure a quality experience. Microsoft Studios Publishing general manager Shannon Loftis remarked:

“We’re very excited about Crackdown 3, and so are many fans, and so it’s a difficult call to move the release date,” Loftis said in an email interview with Polygon. “However, we want to make sure to deliver the right game, with the right quality, and at the right time. Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone. Getting the balance right between the three modes is important, and we are going to take the extra development time to ensure that. Gamers can expect Crackdown 3 in Spring of 2018.”

As you can gather from the message above, the game will be delayed until spring of 2018, meaning that we might even get another huge Crackdown 3 announcement at E3 2018. As far as the experience is concerned, it appears that one aspect that is being tinkered with is the game"s visuals.

Although a game being delayed isn"t anything new, Crackdown 3 is a bit different as it was slated to be a launch title for Microsoft"s next console, the Xbox One X. Luckily, the firm still has other great titles that will be available at launch like Forza Motorsport 7, with more to come in the weeks and months to follow.
